You found one
This note is
alive.
You’re holding real 24‑karat gold — and unlike every other piece of gold on earth, this one reports back. Log where you found it and watch its whole journey unfold.
It’s the small code printed on the note itself — usually starting with two letters.
Free to log. No account needed to look one up.
For twenty-five years, geocachers have moved trackables around the world and faithfully logged every hop.
Nobody made them. No prize, no points that matter — just the shared joy of watching a little tagged object cross a continent because strangers kept their word.
We think that instinct deserves something better than a plastic tag.
So we made the trackable out of gold — and taught it to tell its own story.
Every Golden Benny carries a serial. Every scan writes a new chapter: where it was, who found it, how far it’s come. The map fills in behind it as it travels.
How it works
- 1
Read the serial
It’s printed right on the note. Type it in above — that’s this Benny’s name.
- 2
Log where you found it
A trailhead, a cash drawer, a birthday card. Rough town is plenty — you never have to give an exact spot.
- 3
Watch it travel
Every future finder adds a pin. You’ll see the whole route, the miles, the states — and get a note whenever your find moves on.
So… do I keep it?
It’s real gold and it’s in your hand, so that’s honestly your call. But here’s what the people having the most fun do:
★Pass it on
Leave it for the next adventurer, hand it to a stranger, tuck it in a card. Its story keeps going and you stay on its map forever.
Spend it
Seriously. Take it to a local shop that honors gold. That’s the whole point — gold that actually moves through a real town.
Keep it
Then log it one last time so its story has an ending, and go find the next one. We hide more all the time.
And one more thing
This Benny didn’t end up in your hand by accident.
Families are hiding real gold across the country and leaving cards in geocaches that lead to it. Solve the clues, find the chest, and the gold is yours to find — or to leave for whoever comes next.
